Doctor of Optometry
Optometrist Chen Young, OD, is a Nevada native who is proud to serve patients four and older at Optic Gallery South Meadows located in Reno, NV.
Dr. Young was raised in Reno and graduated from Reed High School. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. He was actively involved in leadership in his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Dr. Young attended the Southern California College of Optometry and did his optometric internship at the Veterans Hospital in Las Vegas, Nellis Air Force Base, and the Indian Health Services in Fort Defiance.
Dr. Young graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1995. He is currently practicing in a private optometric practice at the Boca Park location in Las Vegas. Dr. Young is an involved member of the community, participates in the Asian Chamber of Commerce, and the current Chairman of the Asian Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee.
He is also actively involved in his profession. His professional affiliations include the Nevada Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Young was appointed by Governor Brian Sandoval to serve on the Nevada State Board of Optometry. As the current President of the Board, he ensures high professional standards throughout the state.
Dr. Young has three children and has been a sponsor, manager, and a coach with the Summerlin Little League for many years.
